#14 my last lecture.
if i only had a short time to live, i would want people to know that everyone makes mistakes and there are ways you can fix them just make sure that whatever you do you do it for the best because you do not want to live with regret. i would also want to get accross the point of everythings perfect but no one is happy, just when your down take a minute to look around and notice what you have, don't be sad or mad because life cant get much better then what canada has to offer. always give people chances stay AWAY from bullying and drugs and things that can hurt other people and try to be the best person you can possibly be.

Changing the world project
1) I am going to change the world by stopping bullying. Not by saying im going to do something or telling someone to stop. But physically get myself involved to help someone, weather that be talking to someone directly or gettting someone who can truly help involved.
2) This topic is important to me because over the month of novemeber and a bit of october as well i had a really good friend threaten to kill himself because he was being bullied. That was not okay to hear, and not a good reason so i got involved, i talked to the people who were doing the bullying, the victim himself and also got people involved that could truly help, he is now being home schooled and living with my aunt :) it really had a personal impact on my life knowing that i was one of the 3 people that helped him out and convinced him that he does matter no matter what people say to you.
3) I would like to start it today for other people, and it started about a month ago for myself. yes bullying is a popular subject and people do little things to help stop but i am asking for people to come out of their comfort zones and honestly HELP, get INVOLVED and if you have suspicions of someone being bullied or you know its happening and you just dont want to get involved because it will start drama, do it anyways because these people are too afraid too speak for themselfs and will really appreciate it. And think of it this way, you COULD be saving someones life. So do what you can, a little bit of drama wont hurt and if it does, get an adult to get involved. Find a solution for the people that are afraid to speak up.
4) I need people to start thinking about more SERIOUS concequences that people have to face and deal with everyday, think about what you can REALLY do to make a difference not just say something, DO something about it. Having a little bit of drama in your life is nothing compared to what some people deal with in their everyday life.

today!
Today was a VERY emotional day for me. i found out things i NEVER would have thought about people, and somethings that i wish i didn't know.. they were heart breaking. i am sooo proud of everyone who spoke and who didn't because wether you did or not, it made a change for everyone. i think this will change us allllllll through out this class and next semester. i hope to see a change in the way that people treat other people, i truly am.
i am glad that i cleared things up with a certain someone, it makes me so happy to see that the past CAN stay in the past and just to focus on the future.
i think everyone who spoke, in the class and at the arena are VERY strong people for being able to talk about their problems, to top it off infront of people that you don't know and aren't rally comfortable. i think even if theres not a change right away in the long run there will be and i cant wait until it happens!
this school gets worse and worse everyday because of the drugs, fights, harrassment, and teasing. i think that with this we NEED to have challenge day happen at IDCI, because it will change the future and with it getting worse and worse, it needs it big time.
no matter how much the cost, it will be worth it! maybe next time make it more then 100 people, even if that means having it HERE at our school for a few days and such. because i think EVERYONE in idci should have a chance to experience this and be able to make a change (L)(L)(L)
ILOVEYOUGUYS. and this class, i am deffinatly gonig to miss it.
our little "if you really knew me" even in this class will make me think twice before i say something about some one or stand up for people who are being talked ABOUT by someone forsure.

blog #13, the gratitude
I think its amazing that everyday someone, even if it's just ONE person who does something, notices what they have done and takes a minute to congratualte themself on it because really when you do something good, you should take a minute to be proud. And to recognize CHANGE and think about that for a few minutes too. makes the world a much better place even if its only one person.
10 things i am grateful for:

#12, nearing the end
I have become a whole new person, not going to lie i've lost friends because of how much this class has changed me but i've gained some, some that i never thought i would be friends with before this class. It was such an amazing experience to take leadership, not only the class but to have it with Mr. T he's always smiling and making people laugh, makes me want to be more like that everytime i see it happen! I have learned how to keep my cool with hard situations, to help someone up when they're down, to make an impact on one person is a step to changing the world and so much more. I feel that i have learned alot as is, but anything new would be nice, i honeslty can't explain how much this class has changed me as a person (for the better!) Yes, everyone needs to develop in one way or another and i will continue to carry on my experiences and increase my leadership knowledge as my life goes on. I am becoming a more positive and mature leader. And looking forward to the path it will take me in the near future.

#11, haunted house
I helped out mostly with the posters, and the bathroom as Ali and I kinda claimed it hah, but I tried to help out everyone, Laurissa's group, Mikes' group and mine. I tried to be as involved as i could and keep myself busy at all times.
I faced having to think of alot of the ideas pretty much alone or with Ali, as well as having to set up a room with only two of us working in it. I felt like there were quite a few difficulities that everyone had to face because of timing and how good we tried to make it, so i think with the time aspect we were struggling a bit, but other then that everything went pretty well because everyone worked together. No one created that, we just thought outside the box and tried to make it top of the line so timing was crappy, but we still managed! i noticed when everyone was doing last minute touch ups, we weren't exactly ready for the DC kids to come through becasue we were still trying to figure everything out and give everything a bit of a test run so to speak. Think of other things than what i had in mind, or just had to "wing it". I think everyone overcame alot of the last minute barriers that there was to overcome, because with everyone thinking together, and all helping eachother out it worked in the end.
I helped others with posters and hanging things up, as well as coming up with minor ideas for other peoples ideas and such. I tried to get people who werent doing much to help out with the posters and try to keep them out of trouble and what not.
Everyone was helping everyone as much as they could and everyone contributed everything, even if it was just simpily saying "oh i got an idea for this" or "do you think this idea could work?!" that kind of thing and everyone was accepting to the new ideas that everyone had and tried to make things work as best as they could if it wasn't gonig as planned. I had to change myself in that class because it was definatly a new atmosphere for me and not people i really hangout with at all.. other than the few that i sat with and talk to daily in that class.
I thought that i was foucused, because i tried to put my input in as much as i could and was there everyday. I though that i was dedicated, i was requested to be in leadership for a reason, and i loved it! it was by far the best class i had all semester and i loved every minute of it, that class has DEFINATLY changed my life even outside of school, in a better way. im going to miss having leadership everyday. And lastly, i though that i was trust worthy, when i said i was going to do something in the class i did it, and it wasn't a half ass job i did the best i could.
I had to work with other people, and i got to talk to people that i normally wouldnt, so that was a big step for me. I struggled with having to work with people that im not exactly comfortable with for a long period of time and i was kind of awkward around them almost? i didn't like it, but in the end it did make me a little more comfortable. I did work my hardest i believe, but i think that i could have done a bit better in some parts of things that i could improve. No, not really sometimes i did but not often. I could definatly improve alot more things, although i honestly have already. i just think that everyone still has room for improvment but sadly were nearing the end of this class so there wont be much time for it unless we continue to keep this learning experience going on until we are out of school and have our own lives and children and such.
I think i did good, i wish it would continue on for the rest of the year. But i guess i can wait until next year! if i was to mark myself out of 20, i'd say 17/20 because i did the best i could but like i said above theres always room for improvment.

#10, chapter 2.
They both had very realistic goals, and made a good effort to show it, they have amazing stories and are both very inspirational! I believe that Marc's a very strong person for what he did even if he did make some bad decissions because he turned down a offer that would have made him super rich, just so that he would have the oppertunity to persue his goals in life. I think that both these stories are very meaningful, and have a huge impact on people today because they can realate in some way.
#9, chapter one
I think Craigs story is inspiring and tells a good story about his life and how to make good choices. I think the parts about child slavery was very upsetting but told a good story and opened up eyes, i like that his calss was there to support him and didn't just shut him down when he was telling his story. He is a very good leader and role model, and he should be thankful that he made a change in the world.

number 8.
honestly, this show legit use to be my favorite show ever. although i was only watching it, and not actually taking part in it in any way, i though it was sooooo sad. not to mention, you learn alot from it wether you mean to or not. just from listening to what people have to say and knowing that, all these stories are legit, can be really emotional. not to mention makes you realize flaws about yourself when you see something happening on tv, and you hear people talk about this kinda stuff you just realize all the bad things you have done to people.
it is similar, because like ALL highschools, there's a shit load of drama here. but like i said before, there is at all schools, but it is a simailarity that we have with "roumer valley" haha. somethings that are different are our cliques aren't as intense as the ones that we watched and the pricipal at that school realizes how much drama and things go on there, where in IDCI, our principal acts like he's clueless.. or doesn't do a good enough job at trying to stop it.
the overall concept is deffinatly to stop and realize what you are doing and saying to people. put yourself in other people's shoes, think about what they may be going through or what they have been brought up around. everyone has a story to tell, and really everyone does so just stop and take a second look. think about what is going on around you and what you are doing to people even just by laughing at them when someone else is talking crap about someone else.
i would want to be apart of something like this because i like to voice my opinion, and tell people what's going on when i am asking, and i know that i am labeled, everyone is i have many different labels that people call me, and i am none of what they say, people say im a b*tch because i wont let someone lie to me or walk all over me and get away with it.. people say im a dirt because i hangout out front, (smoke pit) uhm, i don't smoke and im pretty sure i shower EVERYDAY. i am far from a dirt, and there are a few other thing's i've been labeled as that i will leave off of here, but really until you know me don't say anything because that's when you will make me mad and i will be a b*tch. i wouldnt want to do this at the same time though because i dont care what people think of me and i think that opening up to someone that i truly dont know that has lableled me before will just give them more things to talk about so i dont reall care for it at the same time..
i just believe that if someone thinks something about me not much is going to change their opinion. and thats fine. i dont care.
probably because the school is trying to get more people to talk, and be interested in things like education, and such but to do that you need to have friends, or atleast someone who you can talk to, this is high school you NEED to have A friend, or SOMEONE to talk too.. no matter who you are, imagine if it was you that no one talked to and you got bullied everyday. that would seriously suck ass.
i think that i said alot of what i wanted too, but i think that this thing will and will not work, because high school kids are stubborn, it's just the age and a stage of life. but i think it may because there is a pretty good chunk of the school that would be willing to change and take into consideration what we are actually trying to do here. others may not care at all, i guess we will just have to wait and see what happens.
i just hope people learn something from this even if it is just to sit back and think before you say something about someone, think about why they MIGHT be the way they are, think about saying something positive instead of negitive. like we've been learning all semster so far, we are the change, and if we don't start now it wont end up changing anything.

number 7, today was an important day.
we learned today that people need to try to get to know eachother better and do things that will get people to be more comforatble with one another so that we can finally all feel like we can talk to people in the class, even if we don't hangout with them day to day or talk much.
i think the seating will help alot, or if you Mr. T, make groups so that we don't just wander off into our own little groups, because that would kinda defete the purpose of even moving, like just because you are sitting beside someone doesn't mean you are going to talk to them or anything.
anyone that has beef should apolagize, and try to make things better. or people that really don't like coming out of their comfort zones, should try harder.

number 5, everythings amazing and noones happy.
i think that myself and alot of other people my age fit in the range of "i appricate what i have , but i'd like better" if not just flat out "i want better". i definatly agree with the cell phone example he said in this video forsure. people this generation are always complaining and wanting more just because of the new technology these days. it's just in our brains to want more then what we have, or atleast expect it.

blog number four.
i think by actually doing something for the school you are getting involved in an activity that consists of planning an event , speaking or making a change.
i don't think that i personally evaluate myself, there are some people (lower grades most times) that i dont show too much respect too, but it's usually because they have done something to me or i have a reason not to respect them as much as others.
i am and i am not, i think this year and especially next will be alot better because i am changing my ways and figuring out what i want to do in life and trying to go down a different path with my life and in-school life as well.
yes, i have had peers and friends stop me from doing the best i can because of pressure and different intrests and such, but i do believe that i am trying to make a change and i will strive to reach that goal of mine till i graduate.
yes, i agree that we should give them respect because they are new, it is a big change and we've all been there and im sure we wanted the respect that we are working on giving the grade 9's this year, that we wanted in grade 9. although many people may not give grade 9's respect or give them a chance i think that the leadership classes shouldn't give up and should deffinatly strive for change!

The Hnad Maple Leaf
i think we did this activity because it got all of us thinking together about what we would all like our peice to look like. so we all got to see eachothers ideas and were able to create somethnig cool that made us all interact and talk with one another.

Blog number two
a song about leadership
i chose Hold My Hand, by Micheal Jackson ft Akon.
because i think this song resembles togetherness, love and comfort. they are talking about "this life wont last forever, so hold my hand" meaning that if you have someone to love things will look up, and you will have something to look forward too everyday. knowing someone cares and loves for you.
it reminded me of leadership because it's reassuring you that you're not alone, and if you "just hold my hand" you will be accepted by someone weather you think you would ever be close with them or not. you can't get to know someone if you don't try.

leadership number one
I think leadership is going to be by far my best class this semster if not this year, i love that we are painting and colouring, reminds me off the younger years(L). I think with all the people and engergy in this class it will make everyone have a much better day by the time they get here. I'm hoping this class will be as bomb as it has been this first week and a bit! I HATE SCHOOL. so, maybe this class will make me like it? we'll see. out of all my classes this semster Buisness, Leadership, Credit Recovery & English. Leadership is the only one that i will be looking forward too forshure :)
